Benito Basquez

Benito Basquez, Sr. passed from this life on February 11, 2023 at the age of 71. He was born August 26, 1951 in Stanton, Texas to Manuel Basquez and Victoria Samora. He married Martina Basquez in 1971. They shared 33 years together and then remained close friends. Benito honorably served in the U.S. Army where he began his training as a mechanic. He graduated from South Plains College where he continued his mechanical education. He also spent many years in the oil field on drilling rigs. Benito enjoyed barbecue with family, birthday parties, and cold beer with friends and family. He was a loving and caring family man and a blessing to his children. He was a friend you could call on when you needed a helping hand or someone to just listen. He never turned his back on anyone.
Benito is survived by his former wife Martina Basquez, his children Rebecca Basquez, Benito Basquez, Monica Basquez, Richard Basquez, Amanda Basquez, his 13 grandchildren, and his 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Delores Basquez, his mother Victoria Basquez, his father Manuel Basquez Sr., his brothers Louis Basquez, Manuel Basquez, and Domingo Basquez, and his sister Mercedes Quintanilla.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18 from 12:00-9:00 PM, Sunday, February 19 from 3:00-9:00PM, and Monday, February 20 from 9:00-9:00. Rosary will begin at 7:00pm on Monday.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
