Barbara J. (Luster) Smith

Barbara Jean "Bobbie" Luster Smith, 81, passed away on September 11, 2022 at Kent County Nursing Home in Jayton, Texas. Barbara was born on April 19th, 1941 in Torrance, California to Amos Veston and Ruby Fay (Hyles) Luster. She was retired from Texas Tech Health Science Center where she worked in OB/Gyn.
She had been homebound for several years, but considered Parkway Baptist Church her church home.
She enjoyed; cooking, reading, listening to music, watching westerns and learning about Jesus.
She will be remembered for being a hardworking single mother of three who loved her children and parents wholeheartedly. She worshiped the ground her mother walked on, and her mother was her lifelong best friend.
She is survived by: her son; Keith Smith, her daughter; Kelley Blaylock, Grandchildren; Shelby Quintero, Jessica Martinez, Chelsie Mendoza, Taylor Lassley, Cassidy Blaylock, Ford Blaylock, Karly Seipel, Sam Williams, Jason Elkin, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; Amos and Ruby Luster, sister; Shirley Luster, sons; Jeffery Smith, Kurt Smith, and her sweetheart; Wayne Hill.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at Parkway Drive Baptist.

Bobbie had faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and was excited to go to her home. We look forward to our reunion in the not too distant future as is promised in God's Word.
