Barbara De Los Reyes, a radiant soul beloved by many, was born on December 3, 1987, and left this world on December 8, 2025, after a courageous four-year battle with cervical cancer. Known for her valiant spirit and selflessness, Barbara touched the hearts of everyone she met, becoming a cherished fast food server whose love for people was evident in every interaction.
Barbara’s journey began in Roscoe, Texas, where she attended elementary and middle school before graduating from Roscoe High School. During her time at school, she excelled as an athlete, playing basketball, running track, and showcasing her musical talent by playing the flute in the band. Her education and experiences laid the foundation for the charismatic and resilient person she would become.
As a devoted wife to Josafat De Los Reyes of Lubbock and a loving mother to Seraiah De Los Reyes of San Antonio, Adrianna Jordan, Damian De Los Reyes, Kimberly De Los Reyes, Melodee De Los Reyes, and Reine De Los Reyes of Lubbock, Barbara embraced her roles wholeheartedly. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was not only their guiding light but also their greatest supporter.
Barbara's vibrant personality was characterized by her positivity, graciousness, and hard-working nature. Whether she was engaging in heartfelt conversations or sharing silly picture faces and giggling with loved ones, she radiated joy and warmth. She had a profound ability to exchange stories and connect deeply with those around her, making every individual feel special and included. Barbara's love for nachos, enchiladas, and cheese and chips brought an additional layer of joy to her interactions.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Josafat De Los Reyes, her children, Seraiah, Adrianna, Damian, Kimberly, Melodee, and Reine, her father, Armondo Hernandez of Roscoe, Texas, and her siblings: Caroline and her husband Michael Hermosillio of Roscoe, Texas; Crystal and her husband Nick Ruiz of Sweetwater, Texas; Cherie Hernandez of Roscoe, Texas; and Anthony Hernandez of Sweetwater, Texas, Michael and wife Crystal Hernandez of Roscoe, Texas, her mother-in-law Alma Campos of Lubbock, her sisters-in-law Betsy and husband Jesse Martinez of Snyder,Texas, Maria and husband Andres Alonso of Lubbock, and several nephews and nieces Aiden, Calista, Marcus, Miriah, Matthew of Roscoe, Ace, Avire, Kadance of Sweetwater, Dorian and Maya of Roscoe, Azaiah, Andres, Mila-Rose, and Polo of Snyder, Erik, Victoria, and Andrea of Lubbock. Each of her family members will carry forward the legacy of love and kindness that Barbara embodied.
She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Maria Anzaldua Hernandez, whose spirit continues to be a source of strength for Barbara's family.
One of Barbara's proudest accomplishments was her deep personal faith; she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and had the honor of being baptized. Her spiritual journey and the values she held dear will resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
In life, Barbara De Los Reyes was the definition of a warrior, fighting bravely through her hardships while maintaining a graceful and loving presence for her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will live on through the love she shared with all whom she encountered.
