Avelina G. Perez

Avelina G. Perez, née Gonzalez, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. Born on November 10, 1950, in Mataula, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, she lived a life marked by dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment.

Avelina devoted over three decades of her professional life to Texas Tech University. Her career was characterized by a deep passion for fostering learning and supporting the academic community.

As a beloved mother, Avelina is survived by her three children: her sons Ramon Perez and Antonio Perez, and her daughter Veronica Perez. She was also a cherished grandmother to Ryan Jannsen Perez and Dru Nicole Jannsen Perez, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Throughout her lifetime, Avelina’s strength and grace were evident to all who knew her. She nurtured her family with love and imparted timeless values, all the while enriching the lives of friends and colleagues through her kindness and generosity.
