Our beloved "Mami" Avelina V. Armenta quietly entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021 surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Lorenzo Armenta Jr. (Ida), Ricardo E. Armenta (Amalia); Daniel Armenta (Minerva); daughters Blanca Alicia Nava, Ester Armenta Contreras (Juan), Sylvia Saldana (Eddie), Norma Armenta; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lorenzo Armenta, Sr., her sons Roberto Armenta and David Armenta, her mother Evila Silva, her brother Efrain J. Vela, her son-in-law Trinidad T. Nava, and her grandson Billy D. Nava.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Lorenzo Armenta III, Billy Jack Armenta, Christian Contreras, Daniel P. Armenta, Daniel Israel Armenta, and Ever Joel Armenta. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Saldana, Noel A. Armenta, Elizandro Armendariz, Sr., Elizandro Armendariz, Jr., Nathaniel Steele, Billy Jack Armenta, Jr, Joel T. Erevia, Dorian Castro, Tristen Castro, DeVon Lee, Enos Benavidez, Otniel Mares, Sr., Otniel Mares, Jr., Octavio Mares, Stevie Joe Dominguez, Javier Martinez, Sr., and Javier Martinez, Jr.
Her tenacity and strong-willed ways will be greatly missed by all her loved her. Not "good-bye" Mami, only a "See you later in my Father's house with many mansions!"

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 8 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9 at the City of Lubbock Cemetery with Ms. Brandy Cafffey of Conroe, Texas officiating.
