Augustine Ramirez Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Augustine Ramirez Sr., who left us on February 28, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on August 28, 1948, Augustine lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela Raap, who was by his side through thick and thin.

Augustine dedicated a significant part of his career as a safety coordinator at Ferguson Construction in Lovington, where he was known for his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of his colleagues. After retiring, he took immense pride in his personal passions-tending to his pristine lawn and giving his beloved truck a thorough cleaning, rituals that brought him great joy.

His laughter echoed through family gatherings, often sparked by a cleverly told tall tale or lighthearted joke that would bring smiles to the faces of those he loved. A true fan of wrestling and game shows, Augustine embraced the joy of simple pleasures while making time for family visits that always brought great smiles. He will be remembered for saying, "Wait a minute" and "Give me $5.00" and his passion for his beloved grandbabies. Never to be forgotten are his knee high socks with numbers and "Left/Right" written in permanent markers.

As we reflect on his life, we remember a man who was not just a husband and father, but a friend, mentor, and a beacon of joy in the lives of many. His spirit will continue to shine through the memories he created with each of us.

Augustine is survived by Pam, his beloved wife of 37 years, his 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents Fernando and Anita Ramirez, his brother Leo Ramirez, and his daughters Anna Marie and Amy.

Funeral services will be held on March 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Pastor Anthony Saavedra officiating. We invite all who knew Augustine to join us as we honor his memory, sharing laughter and stories that will keep his spirit alive in our hearts.
