Obituary

Armando Lee Licon, affectionately known as "Rabbit," passed away on April 27, 2026. Born on February 4, 1978, in Pecos, Texas, Armando lived a life marked by love, laughter, and creative spirit until his departure at the age of 48.

A graduate of Lubbock High School with some college education, Armando had a passion for artistic expression. He loved to paint and draw, showcasing a remarkable talent for creativity. His hands were never idle, often engaged in putting things together or repairing items for those around him—a true maintenance technician who took pride in his work and abilities.

Armando’s personality shone brightly in every interaction. He was loving, charming, outgoing, and caring, with a flair that could best be described as “fly” and very neat. Known for telling jokes and always seeking to put a smile on someone’s face, he was a free spirit and protector. These qualities endeared him to family and friends alike, making him a beacon of warmth and joy in their lives.

One of the fondest memories shared by those who knew him was his Sunday night cruising, a special time when he spent cherished moments with his loved ones during their childhoods. His smile and jokes remain unforgettable reminders of the joy he brought into many lives.

Armando’s proudest accomplishments included the ability to give gifts to his family during holidays and to celebrate their high school graduations—expressions of his deep care and generosity. His selflessness was evident to all; he would readily give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

He is survived by his father, Albert Licon; mother, Linda Licon; sisters, Monique Licon and Liza Garcia; brother, Jeffrey Licon; daughter, Marissa Licon; sons, Armando Lee Licon Jr. and Derrick Lee Licon; along with four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will continue to honor his memory. Armando was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Licon and Grandma and Grandpa Ramos, as well as his grandson Devin Castillo.

Armando Lee Licon’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and heartfelt creativity. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he leaves behind will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
