Antonio Moreno

January 4, 1933 — February 3, 2023

Antonio Moreno (90) woke up in the arms of Jesus Friday morning February 3, 2023. He was born to Mercedes and Simona Moreno on January 4, 1933 in Elgin, Texas. He married his love Anita Gaitan in October 1957, and they shared 50 years before her death in January 2007.
Antonio will be remembered for his love for God, his love for his family, and his sweet, kind spirit. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed playing the accordion, listening to music, reading his bible, and praying the rosary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, six children, and five grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Josephine Cassity, Eddie Gamez (Nora), and three grandchildren that he raised, Diana Lopez, Antonio Cantu, and Daniel Lopez (Gavina), along with 29 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and his beloved sisters Lydia Salgado and Lupe Ramirez.
Antonio was a veteran of Korean War. He retired from Texas Tech where he worked in grounds maintenance. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 5 at 3:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
His celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6 at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christian Cantu, Joshua Lopez, Jason Ortega, Michael Ortega, Manuel Lopez Jr., and Kelvin Cassity.
