Anita Guzman

Anita Guzman passed from this life on September 22, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born on September 3, 1942, in San Marcos, Texas to Federico and Petra (Hernandez) Cervantez. On September 30, 1959 she married Domingo Guzman, Jr. They shared 43 years of marriage and built a beautiful, loving family. Anita loved the Lord and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching game shows and football games, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother and for her strong faith.
Anita is survived by her children Mary Ann Guzman, Rudy Guzman, Yolanda Carrillo, and Robert Guzman, her 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Freddy Cervantez, Tony Cervantez, John Cervantez; and her sisters, Frances Cervantez, Helen Aguayo. She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Domingo, her brother Dan and his wife Maria Cervantez, and her sister-in-law Janie Cervantez, sisters Rachel and Amelia Cervantez.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 26 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
The funeral mass will be held Friday, September 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas with interment to follow at the City of Idalou Cemetery in Idalou, Texas.
