Alice Fildes

Alice Fildes, 83 passed away February 18th, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. Alice was born December 16th, 1937 in Kimball, Texas to Roy Edgar and Minnie Mae Fildes. She married George Simmons February 26, 1955 and they were together for 20 years.
Alice graduated from Douglas High School at Ellsworth AFB.
She moved to Texas in 1979 and worked as a Supervisor at the Wing Dining Hall at Reese AFB.
Alice was a devout Christian who was proud to have been reborn through Alcoholics Anonymous on September 23, 1987.
She enjoyed working on word puzzles, and embroidering.
She is survived by two brothers, Les Fildes and Don Fildes; five children, George Simmons (Shirley), Cindy Fildes (Steve), Sandy Gibbens, Melanie Flores (Israel) and Greg Simmons (Mary Helen); thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Alice is preceded In death by both parents; one daughter, Dawn Simmons; one grandchild, David Fildes; one sister, Edna O’Banion; four brothers, Lee Fildes, Paul Fildes, Ray Kauble and Gene Kauble.
There will be a graveside service Friday, February 26th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery with Joe Lopez officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local hospice community.
