Alejandro Rivas

Alejandro (Alex) Rivas passed from this life on October 23, 2022, at the age of 89. He was born August 26, 1933 in Mathis, Texas to Librado and Rita Rivas. In 1957, he married Prudencia S. Rivas, and they shared 42 years together. Alex attended school in Sinton, TX and worked various jobs as a farm worker. He attended the Catholic Church in Slaton, TX. Alex enjoyed playing Bingo, pool, cards and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his love of travel, socializing with friends and always being happy when he was with his family.
Alex is survived by his five children Rosa and husband Frank Vega, Dolores and Frank Gonzales, Alejandro Rivas, Jr., Samuel Rivas, and Irene Rivas; his 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings Manuela (Mamie) Lachebal, Ruth Andrist, and Librado Rivas, Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Santo Rivas, Domingo Rivas, Cruz Rivas, Augustine Rivas, Juan Rivas, Paula Martinez, Carolina Cervantez, and many extended family members.
A public visitation will be held Thursday, October 27th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday October 28th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
