Albert "Jr." Garcia, passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on January 15, 1955, Albert grew up in his hometown of Petersburg, Texas. He dedicated two decades of his life to working as a forklift operator at McLane High Plains, where he was known for his hard work and cheerful demeanor.
Albert had a personality that lit up the room. He possessed a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making them laugh with his jokes and brightening their days. His family meant the world to him, and he was often described as a big kid who delighted in playing with his grandchildren. The joy he found in family gatherings and cherished moments spent with loved ones is a testament to the love he fostered throughout his life. Among his proudest accomplishments were his retirement and, above all, the joy and pride he felt for his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.
Outside of work, Albert had varied interests and hobbies. He loved watching NFL football, passionately supporting his favorite team, the Washington Commanders. He also cherished time spent with his best friend, Mr. Greg, enjoying lively discussions about their shared interests. Albert had a particular fondness for WWE wrestling, often enjoying it alongside his grandchildren. His relaxed moments included drinking Miller Lite, firmly believing that it was always "Miller Time!" In quieter moments, he could often be found shelling pecans, a simple pleasure that brought him peace and satisfaction.
Albert is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Marie Torres and her husband Michael, his son Vincent Garcia, his grandchildren: Vanity and Matthew Mireles, Kaitlynn and MaKaylaa Garcia, Alexis and Mikey Torres, Amanda, Desiree, Albert III Garcia, as well as 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Joe Garcia and his wife, and his sister Anna Garcia and her husband.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Josie Garcia, his beloved wife Yolanda Garcia, his son Chris Garcia, and his siblings Linda and Raul Garcia.
Albert "Jr." Garcia will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and family bonds will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation will be held on July 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, located at 407 N University Ave, Lubbock, TX 79415. A funeral service will follow on July 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Grace Catholic Church, situated at 3111 Erskine Street, Lubbock, TX 79415, interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
