Alan Dwane Hardaway, Jr., born on August 26, 1986, passed away on December 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and humor that touched the lives of all who knew him. Alan was known for his contagious smile and infectious laugh, that endeared him to friends and family alike. He lived life to the fullest, embracing each moment with a funny and loving spirit that will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege to share in his journey.
Alan was a proud graduate of Estacado High School, where he forged lasting friendships. He loved music and had a passion for Cowboy games. His zest for life was evident in every aspect of his character and was a source of inspiration for many.
Alan's family includes his beloved brother, Adrian, and his stepmother, Sylvia Hurtado. He is survived by his uncles, Alejandro Campos III, Raymond Melendez, and Andrew Melendez, as well as his aunts, Cynthia Hardaway and Linda Hardaway. He also leaves behind cherished memories of his grandmother, Betty Hardaway.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Delinda Hardaway, and father, Alan D. Hardaway, alongside his grandparents, Alejandro and Janie Campos, and his aunt, Carmen Pauda. Their love and guidance provided a foundation that shaped the wonderful person Alan became.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Alan, with a visitation scheduled for December 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock, Texas. The funeral service will take place the following day, December 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Alan's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
