Agustina Brewer was born on August 28, 1933 in Laredo, Texas to Francisco Olivares and Celedonia Ortiz who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Antonio, Simona, Maria and Francisco. Agustina was also preceded in death by her husband of over 13 years, James Aaron Brewer. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2021 at the age of 87 years. She was a devout Catholic and active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Laredo, TX for 50+ years. As a member of two Church Groups, Guadalupanas and Adoracion Nocturna, she would often visit the sick, gather to pray the Holy Rosary and take part in fundraisers for the Church. In many ways she embodied what most refer to as a strong, God-fearing woman. Along with her sister Maria, the two widows raised 5 strong women and were role models for the women in the family. She was loyal friend to many and never encountered a stranger. She was a breast cancer survivor and a migrant worker who traveled to many states with her family. One of her known and most loved attributes was her loud, almost contagious laughter that brought many to gather around her. In her younger years, she loved to cooking, sewing, crocheting and nursing dying plants back to life. One of her daily routines was praying the rosary twice a day. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching EWTN, Golden Girls, Ninja Warrior and Wipeout. She is survived by her brother, Juan; her children: Sally Mae Brewer and Anna Maria Brewer Garcia (Jerry); grandchildren: Teena, Gerianne, Andrew and great grandchildren: Haylie, Jimmy, Johnny and Gracie. A visitation will be held at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 11 am- 9 pm. with the Holy Rosary to be recited beginning at 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 beginning at 2:00 pm in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
