Abel Pompa

Abel Pompa born December 7th, 1943 in Levelland TX found peace on the 5thof November 2024 at 10:30am in Lubbock TX with his family at his side. He leaves behind the love of his life sharing the past 61 years with Olivia Pompa with whom he shared sons Denis Pompa of Dallas and Damon Pompa and wife Pamela Pompa of Anna as well as his grand children Brashton Pompa, Rain Pompa, Adrianna Armendariz and Mkenzie Olivia Pompa, and his oldest brother Adolfo Pompa and younger sister Ana Barrera {Pompa} both of Lubbock Texas. He was proceeded in death by his younger brother Pete Pompa in 2005, his older brother Juan Pompa Jr. in 2021, both parents Sofia and Juan Pompa as well as his good friend and brother-in-law Jose Barrera August 2024.

Abel worked for United Supermarkets for 52 years before he retired, his work ethic will live on in both sons. Denis has been with the State of Texas for 33 years and Damon has been in the car business for 20 plus years; a small token of Abel and his hard work and unwavering loyalty to each of their crafts.

When Abel was not at work you could find him and Olivia out dancing or traveling to golf courses as he was an avid lover of golf and was routinely invited to play in tournaments. He was a family man driven by just that. He had never met a stranger, a man blessed with the gift of gab another trait he passed down. He was a staple in his community; respected and adored by any one who had the pleasure of even the briefest interaction with him.

Abel will be celebrated with a graveside service, held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the City of Levelland Cemetery, with Rev. Fr. Dylan Crawley officiating.
