Joe Vidal Mora

Joe V. Mora, 71, of Lubbock went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 5th, after a
courageous battle with cancer. There will a Celebration of Life gathering at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Friday, June 7th from 7-8 p.m.
The family will receive friends at this time as well. The funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph CatholicChurch in Lubbock with the Reverend Raymundo Manríquez officiating. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas.
Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be missed dearly. He was born on
Oct. 5, 1947 in Pueblo, Colorado to Florencio Mora Sr. and Concepción Fierro Mora. He is survived by
his loving wife of 53 years, Nora, 4 children: Bobby and wife Krista Mora of San Angelo, Becky and husband Martin Flores of Lubbock, Norma Mora and David and wife Amberlee Mora of Abernathy,
13 grandchildren and 9 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and four
brothers. He is now reunited with his daughter Esther.
Joe was a loving husband and father who enjoyed life to the fullest and didn’t allow his illness to get him
down. He was a life-long machinist by trade who enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with his
children and grandchildren and loved to dance. He also enjoyed doing home-improvement projects,
cooking and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
There will a Celebration of Life gathering at Guajardo Funeral Chapels on Friday, June 7 from 7-9 p.m.
The family will receive friends at this time as well.
Joe will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we know he is enjoying a beautiful reunion in heaven with family. You will always be loved and remembered, and we will
see you again someday. Gone but never forgotten.
